SAE – Speed, Agility and Explosion

SAE – Speed, Agility and Explosion
– aims to improve the athlete’s ability to perform explosive multi-directional movements by reprogramming the neuromuscular system so that it can work more efficiently, better coordinating the body and brain. The program emphasizes movement, function, technique and form to help soccer players become faster, stronger, and more explosive.

Soccer agility is the ability to change direction without the loss of balance, strength, or speed. Agility and co-ordination can be taught to players and will help improve body alignment, reduce injury, and train muscles to fire and activate to perform the activities desired.

Between the ages of 7 and 12 young athletes enter a critical stage of motor skill development. Optimal technique guidance combined with preparatory strength training provides young athletes a foundation upon which future athletic development will be optimized. SAQ training will also help to reduce the risk of injury. The most common serious injury to affect soccer players are injuries to the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) with as many as 250,000 reported injuries sustained each year.
